Hi, my name is Hannah, and I have a wonderful story to tell you. One day my friend, Jessica, came over and gave me an envelope with twenty dollars in it. There also was a note and it said that the money was for a project called Project 20 Bucks. Project 20 Bucks is a way to take a small amount of money and expand it to do good in the world. It is a Godly project because God wants us to use the money we have to help others. I figured out that I was going to have a Lemonade Stand using the twenty dollars for supplies.
Jessica and I met at my house to plan what supplies we needed and how the lemonade stand was going to work. Once we got all the supplies we picked a day to do the lemonade stand. On that day, I got up, I got the signs ready and Jessica arrived. On the signs we said "All Money Goes to Charity". We wanted people to give whatever amount they felt they should. We set up the lemonade stand on the sidewalk corner in front of our house. We put on some Summer songs on Jessica's IPOD speakers. After a few minutes some people started coming.
During the lemonade stand, we met our goal of how much money we hoped to make. Our goal was to make at least $100. We even prayed that God would bring us that much money. We ran the lemonade stand for about three hours. When we were done and had finished cleaning up, we went inside to count the money. We found out we made our goal by making at least $100! But even better was that we made more than $100! We made $178!! All that money went to a charity called World Vision. World Vision is a charity where you can buy certain animals to give to needy families around the world. With all the money we bought a pair of goats! It felt so great to give all that money to a poor village that needs it! It was a great opportunity to do something so nice.
I just wanted to give a big thank you to my friend Jessica for giving me that twenty dollar bill and making this all happen! |
